The Security Management Buyer's Guide is the most comprehensive database of security products and services in the industry. Comprising more than 3,000 manufacturers and suppliers of security products and services, the SMBG fully categorizes the available resources of the security industry from the most elemental tools to its most advanced technology.
The project was launched in 1986 as the annual print publication, The Security Industry Buyers Guide. The mission of the publication was to provide a single source where corporate security directors and professionals could find suppliers of the diverse tools and services required to safeguard the broadest spectrum of facilities. As security threats grew and evolved, so did the SIBG.
The SMBG was re-launched in September 2010 as an online tool that offers information down to the level of individual products and their features. As the only ASIS site that is completey open to the public, it now serves a diverse audience encompassing engineers and architects who now build security into their designs. Government professionals as well, ranging from local law enforcement to The U.S. Department of Defense, have relied on the SMBG to survey the breadth and depth of professional security resources on the market
